While supermarkets offer their share of the competition, taking a walk through the more residential areas of Mumbai, and you will have a variety of small, traditional shops selling vegetables and groceries, and (online) to find meat direct charge. Yes, your choice of chicken for dinner tonight, while beating their wings in a cage preferably rest in India. At least this is cool anyway!
Many of these small shops close by in the afternoon for lunch and the hair. It opens in the afternoon, when the family came to buy vegetables and other food to prepare dinner.
Mumbai Local markets are certainly not the places to have a smooth sailing. They can be very busy and lively, and to avoid confusion, to want to know at least a little Hindi.
